These trips are normally Monday to Friday only. However this season we have some weekend dates available, the first of these being Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th May 2010. Other weekend dates are also available.

Welcome to our Gift Experience website. Here we invite you to come sailing in the Solent aboard modern sailing yachts or power boats. We have been operating sailing gift experiences since 2003, mainly from Lymington on the edge of the New Forest National Park between Southampton and Bournemouth. You would sail aboard yachts which can take 7 crew plus skipper. However we also have yachts which can take up to 13 guests plus skipper. Some of these yachts are new 2009 and offer a high degree of comfort and luxury. If you have a larger party, we would arrange two or more yachts.

Sailing is an ideal way to celebrate a milestone birthday such as 40th,50th,60th, 70th or even 80th. Also a milestone wedding anniversary or other red letter days. These short trips from 2 hours to a full day are suitable for novices and non sailors as well as those who have some prior experience. You can select a morning, afternoon or evening event. The craft are moored in marinas with bars and restaurants. There is usually free parking close by. We start with an on board safety briefing focusing on the life jackets and other life saving equipment carried. Then we cast off and cruise down the river to the sheltered waters of the Solent. Here your skipper will hoist the sails and set course for your chosen destination.

These days are truly memorable and can be made as exciting or relaxed as you wish catering for all ages. We encourage you to take the helm or act as crew, handling the fenders and mooring lines, and trimming the sails using the sheets and halyards. There is the opportunity to visit idyllic anchorages, beaches, rivers bays and harbours, some of which are otherwise inaccessible. Go ashore to the various attractions that the Solent, New Forest National Park and Isle of Wight have to offer. Bring your own food and drink or order a hamper from us. The yachts have washrooms (termed 'the heads') fridges and cookers.

Why not try a Solent river cruise? The Solent has many rivers accessible at high water to the upper reaches. The Beaulieu river, Newtown river, and Keyhaven rivers have stunning scenery, while the Medina river and Hamble river are intriguing for their rich river life. All have quaint waterside bars, bistros or restaurants. In the last few months we have seen a seal regularly in one of the rivers and a dolphin playing at the entrance to another in addition to the many rare sea birds that can be spotted in the Solents bird sanctuaries. A summer evening river cruise to watch the sun setting with glass in hand is not to be missed

Yachts are Department of Transport certified and the skipper holds an RYA/MCA commercial endorsement. All equipment you require is carried on board including wet weather gear, life jackets and life lines. Trips can be tailored to individual requirements. Here are some standard packages and midweek prices which start from as little as £15 per person based on 7 crew.

TWO HOUR EXCURSION £14.14 per person (based on 7 sharing) Total price £99

Once in the Solent, sail across to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight with a drinks stop outside the harbour entrance if required. Tide and wind conditions may permit a visit to the Beaulieu river to the east or Keyhaven nature reserve to the west.

FOUR HOUR TRIP £28.43 per person (based on 7 sharing) Total price £199

Depending on tide times on the day, the famous yachting destination of Cowes can be reached to the east or the Needles lighthouse at the far western end of the Isle of Wight. The National Trust nature reserve at Newtown Creek on the island and the beach at Alum Bay are alternative destinations. There are options to go ashore for a short time where a variety of exciting bars and restaurants can be found. This trip is ideal for a works or office evening out from 6pm to 10pm.

FULL DAY CRUISE £42.71 per person (based on 7 sharing) Total £299 (£59 per person if 4 people or less)

A full day trip allows passage to the Hamble river and Portsmouth harbour to the east or the beautiful beaches on Studland Bay and Poole harbour (the worlds second largest natural harbour)to the west. A variety of options exist for drinks and refreshments ashore or on board.

On all trips, crew will have the option to get involved in all aspects of sailing the yacht. Significant informal sailing training can be acquired by those wishing to do so. A short walk along the pontoon is required to access the yacht where a step up can be provided. Note that wheel chairs cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the activity and crew must be able to descend a companionway to the 'heads' below.

HEN & STAG PARTY SAILING TRIPS

A sailing adventure is a fabulous way to celebrate a hen or stag event with friends and our trips continue to be popular.Each Bavaria 38 can take 7 guests plus skipper in comfort and safety. There are 8 berths in 4 cabins plus the yachts have well equipped galleys together with 2 on board hot fresh water showers, one in the heads cubicle and one on the stern platform.
