CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Welcome to the Skippered Yacht Charter page of the website. Crewed yacht charter with skipper is available for those who:

• have no previous sailing knowledge
• wish to refresh their skills after a break from sailing
• have Med flotilla experience but no knowledge of Solent tides
• would like some companionship

After a safety briefing, the client is invited to take the helm from the off. The skipper will take a back seat (so to speak) if the client is happy and confident enough to assume control himself/herself. Otherwise the skipper will demonstrate the operation of the yacht and advise as necessary. All equipment required is held on the yacht including wet weather gear, life jackets and harnesses.

Crewed yacht charter also allows you to try your hand at marina berthing, springing off pontoons, anchoring, picking up a mooring under motor and tide, man over board manoevres, navigation, pilotage and all the other aspects to safely sail in the Solents tidal waters.

Unlike Bareboat charter, no security deposit is required for Solent skippered charter and the yacht will be provisioned with general items such as tea, milk coffee etc. The charter price includes all on board gas and electricity, parking, showers and mooring fees at the home marina as well as cleaning.

AN UNUSUAL SERVICE THAT WE OFFER IS TO BERTH YOU OVERNIGHT IN COWES OR YARMOUTH OR LYMINGTON TO HAVE PRIVATE USE OF THE YACHT. THE SKIPPER WILL THEN RETURN HOME BY FERRY AND ARRIVE BACK THE FOLLOWING MORNING TO CONTINUE SAILING

It is possible to arrange to take the International Certificate of Competence allowing use of a pleasure yacht overseas at the end of or during the yacht skippered weekend.See the further information under our sailing courses page.
