We are offering for sale two spanish properties with large plots situated close to Alora north of Malaga on the Costa del Sol. This region is also known as Andalucia with beautiful mountain and coastal scenery. The yachting harbours of Marbella and Benalmadena are only an hours drive or so away and there are golf courses everywhere. From these two properties, you can drive to the Sierra Navada ski resort in under 2 hours. Gibralta is a similar distance.
The properties are surrounded by hills. We took the picture below from the top of one of these hills which look down on the properties. The view is north and shows the new high speed railway from Madrid to Malaga which takes around 2 hours. Properties like these are now difficult to find because as development advances, you need to travel further along dusty tracks into the hills. It is not unusual to have to travel 15km from the nearest tarmac road. These properties are just 3km from a main road.
The best time to buy spanish property! This may sound a little far fetched at the moment due to the depreciation of Sterling against the Euro in recent months which has increased the number of £s required to purchase the Euros. However the owners are going to repatriate the purchase funds into the UK and will make an equivalent gain to the purchasers loss. At the time property 1 was placed on the market at E400,000, the exchange rate was E1.5=£1 requiring £266,660 of purchase funds for a UK buyer. Now that the rate has reduced to E1.2=£1, £333,333 of purchasers funds would have been required, an increase of £67,000. For the seller the gain would be the same £67,000. For that reason they will accept to pass their gain over to the purchasers by way of a price reduction if paying in Euros or by accepting payment in Sterling at £266,660 from a UK buyer. A second incentive offered by the sellers is to credit the buyers with the saving in estate agents fees of 2% resulting from a direct sale.
Property 1 Euros 400,000 This has a stunning setting in a bowl of hills. There is a 180 degree panoramic vista of the ever changing hillsides which are covered in olive and almond trees, all of which you will own. In the early part of the year, the hills are covered in white blossom from the almond trees making a truly marvellous backdrop. The early morning quiet is broken by the bells as the goat herd drives his flock of goats up the hillside path past the living room patio doors. This really is different to life in England.
